Our school is participating in putting together boxes for Operation Christmas Child, a program that sends gifts around the world to children in need. We plan to donate 50 boxes schoolwide, and hope that by getting students involved, they will be reminded of the importance of giving as we soon enter the Christmas season.
Every Wednesday for the next 3 weeks (October 19th, 26th, and November 2nd), we plan to have a bake sale at lunch time, from which the proceeds will go directly into our fund for this project.
If you would like your child to participate in helping us raise money, please make sure they have sufficient funds in their lunch account or bring cash on these days.
If any parents or guardians wish to buy baked goods as well, you may come in the front doors, and someone will be there in the hall to sell some to you. This will be open as an option from 3:00-3:20 on Wednesdays. Please bring cash to purchase items rather than a credit card.
If your family wishes to donate funds or items directly, please see your child’s teacher and the attached suggestion list for more details. The cut-off date for donations will be Thursday, November 10th. We plan to put the boxes together the week of November 14th.
